André Rommel Young, ismertebb nevén Dr.Dre többszörös Grammy díj nyertes amerikai album producer, hip hop producer, rapper, színész és többek között az Aftermath Entertainment megalapítója és első embere. Mint nyilván már kiderült a Dre a valódi nevéből ered. A Dr. előtag meg ugye kell a rap egyik nagy doktorának.

Dre ismertsége mint hip-hop előadó az N.W.A.-ben kezdődött (Niggas With Attitude), és folytatódott mint legjobb eladásokat produkáló rapper, majd társ-alapítója a Death Row Records-nak Suge knight társaságában, és alapítója az Aftermath Entertainmentnek. Olyan rap szupersztároknak indította el a karrierjét mint Snoop Dogg, The Game és Eminem.

A hip-hop legnagyobb producereként írta be magát a történelembe, aki elsők között használt szintetizátort, keverőpultot, és magas basszust a hip-hop ütemeiben. Jelenleg olyan többszörös platinalemezes előadók tartoznak az Aftermath égisze alá mint Eminem, 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes és Eve.

Albumjai, a 'The Cronic' és a '2001' is mind szakmailag és a közönség visszajelzése alapján is nagy sikereket értek el, és elkönyvelték Dre-t mint a Nyugati Parti G-funk 4 éves dominanciájának (1992-'96) az elindítóját a rap berkein belül.
